Julian Patrick is a Hetas registered installer fitting wood burning and multifuel stoves in the North Wales area covering Conwy, Llandudno, Colwyn Bay, Abergele, Glan Conwy, Penrhyn Bay, Rhos On Sea, Penmaenmawr, Llanfairfechan and the surrounding Conwy area.
Julian trained with Hetas and has proficiency in both wet and dry systems (smaller, cottage-style wet systems involving ten or less radiators).
Julian has also trained (with Navitron) to fit Navitron solar thermal and integrate all with thermal stores.
Julian has been fitting stoves full time since 2007. He manages Stoves At Home www.stovesathome.com and Stove Fitter’s Manual www.stovefittersmanual.co.uk a venture he launched May 1st 2013.
Julian initially trained as a plumber, following his desire to work with renewables, in particular thermal solar heating. A chance meeting with a wood burning stove fitter and subsequent involvement in a number of installers led to Julian re-evaluating that path. “I really enjoy fitting stoves,” says Julian. “There is something very satisfying about this age-old method of heating a home and the fact that it is a renewable energy source makes me feel I am doing something worthwhile.”
Julian is married to Teresa and they have a Lurcher called Reg. In his spare time Julian enjoys walking the dog, sailing (Hobie Tandem Island), fishing (off the Hobie) and a good summer barbecue.
In a past life Julian was Managing Director of a watersports company that exported globally. He also dabbled in the dot com boom setting up a venture-capital backed Internet based company (claim to fame being nominated as radio 2’s website of the day) that signed up over a million subscribers during a six-year period. The watersports company was sold; the Internet website still runs today.
